Am I blind or is there really no way to use custom ideologies with custom countries?

If you created your country before the ideologies, you will need to add those in using the ideology edit function for the country.

I have an ideology

but it doesn't appear

Your ideologies don't have any types set (at the bottom of the ideology editor).

These are required for the country to actually be assigned that.
